Born in Zakopane, where he lives currently. He is a well-qualified, and licensed guide in Tatra Mountains and international mountain guide united in The Union of International Mountain Leader Associations and ski instructor. Ex-president of the Tatra Mountains Guides Association and co-founder of The Union of International Mountain Leader Associations. Apart from Tatras and the Carpathians he visits mountains in the UK, Norway, Spain, Bulgaria, the Alps, the Rocky Mountains, High Atlas, Kilimanjaro and the Himalayas. He is an ethnologist, graduated the Jagiellonian University, publicist, translator and photographer. He wrote several books: Zakopane, 2001, The Tatras, 2004, Zakopane – Yesterday and Today, 2004, The picturesque Poland, 2004, Tatry, Zakopane and Podhale, 2004. He worked as a journalist for BBC World Service in London. He currently publishes articles, interviews, and translations in many journals and periodicals.
